外院网讯（通讯员 江馨怡）10月31日下午，学校党委常委、副校长田恒平教授在新图书馆1号报告厅为永利集团3044官网欢迎您2024级新生做专题讲座《大学及适应》，此次讲座旨在教导同学们如何正确地认识大学、大学教育以及作为新时代大学生怎样规划好自己四年的大学时光，树立正确的人生观、世界观和价值观，成为未来建设祖国的合格人才。永利集团3044官网欢迎您班子成员、新生辅导员及2024级新生参加了本次讲座。
田校长以“大学的三要件”作开篇语，围绕“如何做‘大学生’、怎样做‘大学问’、如何成为‘大学者’”论题展开。田校长鼓励同学们，首先要做有理想、有勇气、有追求梦想的“大学生”，勇于担当时代赋予的使命。其次，要做自强不息、坚定为党为国为民理念的“大学问”，通过不断学习与实践，为社会发展贡献智慧与力量。再者，他希望同学们积极进取，成为有胸怀格局、目标追求的“大学者”，在外语学习领域深耕细作，努力用外语传播中国文化，讲好中国故事。
田校长还介绍了永利集团发展的光辉历程，解读了学校“教师教育是底色，服务光谷是特色，国际融合是亮色”的办学特点，勉励同学们“知校爱校荣校”。

Vice President Tian Hengping Teaching the First Lesson for the 2024 Freshmen of School of Foreign Languages
(Correspondent: Jiang Xinyi) On the afternoon of October 31, Professor Tian Hengping, a member of the Standing Committee of the University Party Committee and Vice President, gave a special lecture titled “University and Adaptation” to the 2024 freshmen of the School of Foreign Languages at the New Library's Lecture Hall No. 1. The lecture aimed to teach students how to correctly understand university, university education, and how to plan their four years of university life as college students in the new era, establishing the correct outlook on life, worldview, and values, and becoming qualified talents for the construction of the motherland. The leadership of the School of Foreign Languages, freshman counselors, and freshmen of 2024 attended the lecture.
Vice President Tian started with the “Three Essentials of University”, and elaborated on the topics of “How to be a ‘University Student’, How to do ‘Scholarly Studies’, and How to become a ‘Scholar’”. Firstly, he encouraged students to be “university students” with ideals, courage, and pursuit of dreams, bravely taking on the mission entrusted by the times. Secondly, to do “scholarly studies” that are self-reliant and committed to serving the Party, the country, and the people, contributing to social development. Furthermore, he hopes that students will actively strive to become “scholars” with broad vision and goals, delving deeply into the field of foreign language learning, and striving to spread Chinese culture and tell Chinese stories with foreign languages.
Vice President Tian also introduced the glorious history of our university’s development, interpreted the characteristics of “teacher education as the foundation, service to Optics Valley as the feature, and international integration as the highlight”, encouraging students to “know the university, love the university, and take pride in the university”.
Vice President Tian’s lecture was profound, thought-provoking, and inspiring. Students expressed that they have a clearer goal and direction for university study, and are more determined to study hard and pursue their dreams. They will forge ahead with greater enthusiasm and determination, embarking on a new journey of studying and growth.
